About the Atlantic Flight Attendant Academy
Established in 1996, the Atlantic Flight Attendant Academy is a registered Private Career College with the Nova Scotia Department of Advanced Education. Each student receives individual attention and instruction which results in a solid knowledge of the important safety role which the Flight Attendant plays.

Our Mission is to bring students together in a supportive and challenging environment that will provide them with the skills to excel in the Flight Attendant profession.
Our Approach
The highest standards of instruction, curriculum and career counseling are provided for each student. We take the time to fully answer student’s questions and ensure understanding. Hands-on drills and role play ensure students are ready to take-off in this exciting career.
Our Programs
12-week Flight Attendant and French Program (360 hours)
This program combines our 6 week Flight Attendant Program with 6 weeks of French Language instruction. For those students with basic or no French ability, this program gives our graduates an edge for employment. At the end of this program, students will have all the knowledge from the 6-week program as well as be comfortable serving passengers in French.
6-week Flight Attendant Program
(180 hours)
This program reflects the latest Canadian Aviation Regulations for Flight Attendants with practical hands-on training provided to prepare our graduates for this challenging career.
Our Team
Cynthia Sullivan
Director & Founder
Cynthia Sullivan is a graduate of Dalhousie University and University Sainte-Anne with over 30 years experience in the aviation industry. She has worked as a Flight Attendant, In-flight Manager and Trainer and has held management positions for airlines across North America, giving her the hands-on and supervisory experience necessary to develop the programming at the AFAA. Having trained and hired hundreds of flight attendants, Cynthia brings her vast networking abilities, aviation knowledge, and expertise to AFAA students and ensures their learning experience is second to none!
Alexandra Knowles
Alexandra is a recruiter for the Atlantic Flight Attendant Academy. Alex earned her Bachelor of Arts with a major in French literature from Carleton University. In addition, she has several years experience working in both the private and public sectors. Alex is currently a Flight Atttendant Purser with Porter Airlines, excelling in this role. Bringing her fluency in Engligh & French to both the inflight cabin and our College, she has a passion for assisting others.
Lexie Johnson
AFAA Instructor for Flight Attendant & French
Lexie is our senior Flight Attendant & French Immersion Instructor. With over 5 years experience as a Porter Airlines Flight Attendant, she has the current knowledge & industry experience to provide excellent aviation understanding for our students. As a graduate of the AFAA she knows the importance of our college diploma.

Where Are They Now?
Grant Campbell - April 2017
Grant graduated from the Flight Attendant and French Program and moved to Western Canada. He is now a Flight Attendant with North Cariboo Air! We are so happy he has achieved his dream!
